PEEK HPV - High Pressure, High Velocity

PEEK HPV is a specially developed self-lubricating PEEK grade for components operating under high pressure, high velocity and extreme friction. Carbon fibre reinforcement combined with internal lubricants delivers outstanding wear resistance and a low coefficient of friction, while retaining PEEK’s continuous operating temperature of up to 250°C.

PEEK HPV - High Pressure, High Velocity

PEEK HPV is a tribological grade of PEEK, specifically formulated for components that must perform reliably under high pressure, high velocity (HPV) and sustained friction. It combines carbon fibre reinforcement with internal solid lubricants to reduce the coefficient of friction and dramatically improve wear resistance compared to standard PEEK, without requiring external lubrication.

This self-lubricating behaviour makes PEEK HPV particularly suited to dry-running or minimally lubricated applications, where it maintains dimensional stability and mechanical strength at continuous operating temperatures of up to 250°C, alongside PEEK’s inherent resistance to chemicals, hydrolysis and steam.

PEEK HPV is used for bearings, bushings, thrust washers and seals operating under high contact pressure and sliding velocity, including in fine machining, chemical processing and precision engineering environments.

Note: As with standard PEEK, the glass transition temperature of approximately 150°C should be considered during component design, as physical properties may shift beyond this point.

Self-Lubricating

Internal lubricants reduce friction and enable reliable dry-running or minimally lubricated operation.

Outstanding Wear Resistance

Engineered specifically for high-pressure, high-velocity contact conditions.

Low Coefficient of Friction

Reduces heat generation and extends component service life in sliding and rotating applications.

High Continuous Operating Temperature

Maintains performance up to 250°C, with PEEK's full chemical and hydrolysis resistance.

Available Product Forms

PEEK HPV is available in standard sheet and round bar formats, cut-to-size and as CNC-machined finished parts.

Sheets

Standard sheet formats in black colour, available across a range of thicknesses for machining into bearing and bushing components.

Round Bars

Solid bars available across a standard diameter range in 1000 mm and 3000 mm lengths, ideal for turned bearing and bushing parts.

Cut-to-Size

Custom cut to your exact dimensions from standard sheet or bar stock.

Finished Parts

CNC-machined bearings, bushings, thrust washers and seals manufactured to your technical drawings and tolerance requirements.

Typical Applications

PEEK HPV is selected wherever sliding or rotating components must operate reliably under high pressure, high velocity and extreme friction, often with limited or no external lubrication.

Bearings & Bushings

Dry-running and minimally lubricated bearings, bushings and thrust washers operating under high contact pressure.

Seals & Wear Rings

Sealing and wear-ring components where a low coefficient of friction extends service life and reduces heat build-up.

Fine Machining & Precision Engineering

Precision-machined tribological components for equipment operating at elevated speed and load.

Chemical Processing & Electroplating

Wear parts operating in aggressive chemical environments where standard lubricated bearings are unsuitable.
