PA6 FR-V0 is a purpose-engineered flame-retardant grade of polyamide 6, developed specifically for applications where fire safety standards and certifications are non-negotiable. While standard PA6 and PA6C offer excellent mechanical and tribological properties, they do not meet the flame classification requirements demanded by rail, offshore, mining and defence applications. PA6 FR-V0 closes that gap.
The flame retardant system used in PA6 FR-V0 is free of halogens and red phosphorus. This is a critical requirement in enclosed environments such as railway vehicles and marine vessels, where combustion by-products must meet strict toxicity and smoke density standards.
Through a special manufacturing process, PA6 FR-V0 achieves improved material homogeneity compared to standard flame-retardant grades, which directly results in better machinability and more consistent mechanical performance. It is available in sheets as standard stock and in round bars on request.
Certified to UL94 V0. Self-extinguishing with no dripping of flaming particles
Meets requirements for public rail transport at hazard levels R22, R23, R24 and R26
Flame retardant system produces no toxic halogen gases or red phosphorus compounds during combustion
Improved homogeneity through special manufacturing process results in consistent, reliable machinability
Retains the base mechanical characteristics of polyamide 6, including tensile strength and toughness
Resistant to oils, greases, fuels and common industrial chemicals as standard for PA6 grades

Custom cut to your exact dimensions from standard sheet stock.
CNC-machined parts to your technical drawings. Suitable for cable clamps, sliding elements, spring washers and other certified components.
The primary certified application for PA6 FR-V0. Used for cable clamps, sliding elements and emergency spring washers in railway vehicles where DIN EN 45545-2 compliance is mandatory for passenger safety.
Applied in enclosed marine environments where fire behaviour, smoke density and toxicity of combustion by-products are regulated. Suitable for structural and functional components throughout vessel interiors and engineering spaces.
Used for components in underground mining environments where halogen-free, self-extinguishing materials are required to limit fire risk and protect personnel in confined spaces.
Suitable for machined components and structural parts in offshore and onshore oil and gas installations where flame retardancy and the absence of halogenated materials are required by safety regulations.
Applied in commercial and specialist vehicle construction for interior components, housings and structural parts where fire classification is a design specification.
Used in any industrial environment where standard engineering plastics do not meet the applicable fire behaviour regulations, including power generation, chemical processing and defence.
