POM-C (Polyoxymethylene Copolymer)

POM-C (Polyoxymethylene Copolymer) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic with excellent frictional properties and outstanding dimensional stability. It combines high mechanical load-bearing capacity with good machinability and very low moisture absorption — making it the preferred choice for precision components in demanding industrial and wet-environment applications.

POM-C (Polyoxymethylene)

POM-C is produced by copolymerisation, a process that results in a highly uniform crystalline structure with minimal internal stress compared to homopolymer acetal grades. This manufacturing method delivers superior dimensional stability and consistent mechanical performance across a wide range of operating conditions.

One of POM-C’s defining characteristics is its very low moisture absorption. Unlike polyamide grades, POM-C does not change its dimensional or mechanical properties in humid environments or underwater operation. This makes it reliably suitable for components in pumps, valves, wet conveyors and food-processing machinery where exposure to water or cleaning agents is unavoidable.

POM-C also offers broad chemical resistance to organic solvents, fuels, oils and weak acids. It machines cleanly on CNC turning, milling and drilling centres with excellent surface finish. POM-C is used for gearbox components, guide rollers, bearing bushings, slide elements and precision structural parts across mechanical engineering, food processing, electronics and the semiconductor industry.

POM-C is available in all standard semi-finished forms. Log in to check live stock availability, pricing and lead times for your specific dimensions.

Sheets

Flat sheet formats from 5 mm thickness; standard sizes 2000×1000 mm and 3000×1220 mm. Suitable for machining structural parts, wear plates and precision blanks.

Round Bars

Solid bars from Ø 6 mm to Ø 300 mm in 1000 mm and 3000 mm lengths. Standard availability across the full diameter range.

Cut-to-Size

Custom cut to your exact dimensions from sheet or bar stock. Reduces machining time and material waste.

Finished Parts

CNC-machined parts manufactured to your drawings — individual parts and production runs available.

Typical Applications

POM-C is used wherever high dimensional precision, low friction and stable performance in wet or chemically aggressive environments are required in industrial applications.

Gearbox & Transmission Parts

Gear wheels, worm gears and toothed components in mechanical engineering and automation. POM-C delivers dimensional stability and wear resistance under continuous load.

Guide Rollers & Bearings

Guide rollers, plain bearings and flanged bushings replacing metal components. Suitable for dry-running and light-lubrication conditions with consistent dimensional accuracy.

Sliding Elements & Wear Strips

Slide rails, cam guides, conveyor wear strips and linear guide elements. Low friction behaviour reduces drive energy and extends component service life.

Wet Environment Components

Pump housings, valve bodies, impellers and underwater-running components. POM-C maintains its mechanical properties and dimensions regardless of water exposure or humidity.

Food & Beverage Processing

POM-C Natural (whitish) and POM-C Blue RAL5002 are available in FDA and EU10/2011 food-contact compliant grades. Suitable for direct-contact components in food processing, packaging and beverage lines.

Electronics & Semiconductor

POM-C ESD and conductive grades are engineered for controlled electrostatic environments. Used for carrier trays, fixtures and handling components in semiconductor fabrication and LCD/TFT manufacturing.

Available in 4 Variants

Each variant is engineered for specific mechanical, electrical or food-safety requirements. Select the right POM-C grade for your application.

POM-C Natural / Black

Acetal copolymer in its pure, unfilled form. The universal grade for precision structural parts, gearbox components, guide rollers and bearings across mechanical engineering.

POM-C Blue RAL5002

Engineered for food processing environments where fragment detection is a regulatory requirement. The distinctive RAL5002 blue colour enables rapid visual and X-ray detection.

POM-C ESD AST / Antistatic

Antistatic grade with a constant surface conductivity between 10⁹ and 10¹¹ ohms. Prevents electrostatic charge accumulation in sensitive handling applications.

POM-C ELS EC / Conductive

Manufactured with CNT (carbon nanotube) technology, this grade delivers permanent conductivity between 10⁶ and 10⁹ ohms with minimal deviation.
