POM-C is produced by copolymerisation, a process that results in a highly uniform crystalline structure with minimal internal stress compared to homopolymer acetal grades. This manufacturing method delivers superior dimensional stability and consistent mechanical performance across a wide range of operating conditions.
One of POM-C’s defining characteristics is its very low moisture absorption. Unlike polyamide grades, POM-C does not change its dimensional or mechanical properties in humid environments or underwater operation. This makes it reliably suitable for components in pumps, valves, wet conveyors and food-processing machinery where exposure to water or cleaning agents is unavoidable.
POM-C also offers broad chemical resistance to organic solvents, fuels, oils and weak acids. It machines cleanly on CNC turning, milling and drilling centres with excellent surface finish. POM-C is used for gearbox components, guide rollers, bearing bushings, slide elements and precision structural parts across mechanical engineering, food processing, electronics and the semiconductor industry.
Extremely tight tolerances maintained over time.
Low coefficient of sliding friction.
Suitable for sliding.
Clean CNC turning, milling and drilling.
Resistant to organic solvents.
Properties remain stable in humid conditions.
High-Performance Engineering Plastics
Flat sheet formats from 5 mm thickness; standard sizes 2000×1000 mm and 3000×1220 mm. Suitable for machining structural parts, wear plates and precision blanks.
Solid bars from Ø 6 mm to Ø 300 mm in 1000 mm and 3000 mm lengths. Standard availability across the full diameter range.
Custom cut to your exact dimensions from sheet or bar stock. Reduces machining time and material waste.
CNC-machined parts manufactured to your drawings — individual parts and production runs available.
Gear wheels, worm gears and toothed components in mechanical engineering and automation. POM-C delivers dimensional stability and wear resistance under continuous load.
Guide rollers, plain bearings and flanged bushings replacing metal components. Suitable for dry-running and light-lubrication conditions with consistent dimensional accuracy.
Slide rails, cam guides, conveyor wear strips and linear guide elements. Low friction behaviour reduces drive energy and extends component service life.
Pump housings, valve bodies, impellers and underwater-running components. POM-C maintains its mechanical properties and dimensions regardless of water exposure or humidity.
POM-C Natural (whitish) and POM-C Blue RAL5002 are available in FDA and EU10/2011 food-contact compliant grades. Suitable for direct-contact components in food processing, packaging and beverage lines.
POM-C ESD and conductive grades are engineered for controlled electrostatic environments. Used for carrier trays, fixtures and handling components in semiconductor fabrication and LCD/TFT manufacturing.
Each variant is engineered for specific mechanical, electrical or food-safety requirements. Select the right POM-C grade for your application.
