PEEK HPV is a tribological grade of PEEK, specifically formulated for components that must perform reliably under high pressure, high velocity (HPV) and sustained friction. It combines carbon fibre reinforcement with internal solid lubricants to reduce the coefficient of friction and dramatically improve wear resistance compared to standard PEEK, without requiring external lubrication.
This self-lubricating behaviour makes PEEK HPV particularly suited to dry-running or minimally lubricated applications, where it maintains dimensional stability and mechanical strength at continuous operating temperatures of up to 250°C, alongside PEEK’s inherent resistance to chemicals, hydrolysis and steam.
PEEK HPV is used for bearings, bushings, thrust washers and seals operating under high contact pressure and sliding velocity, including in fine machining, chemical processing and precision engineering environments.
Note: As with standard PEEK, the glass transition temperature of approximately 150°C should be considered during component design, as physical properties may shift beyond this point.
Internal lubricants reduce friction and enable reliable dry-running or minimally lubricated operation.
Engineered specifically for high-pressure, high-velocity contact conditions.
Reduces heat generation and extends component service life in sliding and rotating applications.
Maintains performance up to 250°C, with PEEK's full chemical and hydrolysis resistance.
