PTFE is a sintered fluoropolymer and the most chemically resistant plastic available. It is resistant to virtually all chemicals, including concentrated acids, bases, solvents and aggressive industrial media, and maintains this resistance continuously up to 260°C. Combined with its extremely low coefficient of friction and near-zero surface adhesion, PTFE is the standard material for seals, coatings, gaskets and plain bearings in chemically aggressive or high-temperature environments.
Unlike engineering plastics such as PA6C or POM-C, PTFE is a soft material with relatively low mechanical strength and hardness. It is not suitable for structural components, high-load bearing applications or parts subject to significant wear stress.
PTFE is available in pure virgin grade and in seven filler modifications. Glass, graphite and coal fillers are available in different concentrations to improve specific mechanical, tribological or thermal properties while retaining the core chemical resistance of the base material. Modified grades are produced on request.
Resistant to concentrated acids, bases, solvents and aggressive industrial media.
Flame retardant with stable properties up to 260°C continuous service temperature.
One of the lowest friction values of any solid material, suitable for low-friction sliding applications.
Extremely low adhesion makes PTFE suitable for coatings, linings and non-stick surfaces.
Excellent dielectric properties across a wide temperature and frequency range.
Approved for use in food contact, medical and pharmaceutical applications
High-Performance Engineering Plastics
Standard sintered sheets in four formats: 1000x1000 mm, 1200x1200 mm, 1500x1500 mm and 2000x1000 mm. Thicknesses 5 to 100 mm in standard stock.
Very thin skived sheets from 0.5 to 4 mm thickness across multiple formats. Used for gaskets, seals, linings and thin-wall applications requiring precise thickness tolerances.
Solid bars from 10 to 160 mm diameter in 1000 mm lengths. Standard stock in natural grade.
Custom cut to your exact dimensions from standard sheet or bar stock.
CNC-machined parts to your technical drawings. Suitable for seals, rings, bushings and precision insulating components.
The primary application for PTFE. Used for static and dynamic seals, gaskets and O-ring backup rings in chemical processing, pharmaceutical and food industry equipment where standard elastomers would be degraded by the media.
Applied as a lining material for tanks, pipes, vessels and reactor components in chemical plants where the substrate must be protected from aggressive media. Skived sheets are used for thin-wall lining applications.
Used for plain bearings and slide pads where a low coefficient of friction is required but mechanical wear stress is limited. Not suitable for high-load or high-speed bearing applications.
PTFE's stable dielectric properties across a wide temperature range make it suitable for electrical insulating components, cable insulation supports and high-temperature insulating parts.
Physiologically inert and approved for direct food contact and pharmaceutical use. Applied in processing equipment, filling machinery and laboratory components where chemical inertness is mandatory.
Valve seats, pump components, pipe fittings and equipment parts in chemical processing, electroplating and semiconductor manufacturing where resistance to aggressive media is required.
